About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a full-time (35 hours per week) Building Services Clerk based in Lake Country, BC. This is a Term position for approximately 15 months.
Reporting to the Manager of Building and Bylaw Services, you will be responsible for providing general information to the public; setting up meetings and appointments; providing clerical and research services for the Building Services division, tracking files, and handling the records management and mail systems in a knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient manner for both internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:
- Ability and skills to tactfully deal with internal and public inquiries with courtesy and tact in explaining or exchanging information;
- Prepares agendas and minutes as directed, prepares advertisements in relation to applications, and assists in the preparation of departmental reports, presentations, and permits; and
- Provide clerical services, such a data entry for building permits and scheduling inspections.
More About You
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of two years’ work experience in an engineering or development setting in the public or private sector and one year post-secondary education in office administration, business administration, public administration, or related field.
As our ideal candidate, you have excellent communication skills, and sound knowledge of bylaws related to development services. You are a self-starter and have excellent research skills combined with a keen attention to detail and organization.
