Wage:                                                   $19.50/hour plus 17.4% in-lieu of all benefits (2024 rates)

 

Location:                                             District of Lake Country, Winfield Arena

Job Description

Purpose

This position assists staff in the safety of public during public skating. Various light janitorial duties. Handling of cash.

 

Required Training and Experience

  • Intermediate level of ice-skating experience;
  • Minimum of grade 11, current student registration;
  • Preference will be given to students currently enrolled in post-secondary education

 

Work Environment

  • Works at the Arena;
  • Will be required to work evening shifts or weekends and have direct contact with, and provide assistance to, user groups and full-time arena staff;
  • Shifts are Wednesday evening, Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.

 

Main Scope of Work

  • Assist staff in public safety;
  • May be required to complete various light janitorial duties;
  • Handling of cash.

 

Required Abilities, Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Must have intermediate ice-skating skills ability;
  • Physical effort is required;
  • Ability to communicate tactfully with the general public; and
  • Must have own skating equipment.
