About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Planner (35 hrs per week) based in Lake Country, BC.
Reporting to the Planning & Development manager, you will provide research, analytical, report writing, presentation services respecting policy development, land use planning projects, and land use applications.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Processing land use applications;
- Preparing correspondence in relation to public enquiries, development applications;
- Preparing land use planning studies utilizing a variety of formats;
- Working collaboratively with District staff to make submissions to Council and other affected public and private agencies, and with committees and above named groups respecting land use in the community.
More About You
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of a diploma in Planning (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years’ work experience in Planning. Additionally, you will be a member or be eligible for membership in the Planning Institute of BC. A valid British Columbia Driver’s License, Class 5 is required.
As our ideal candidate, you have strong communication and presentation skills. You have thorough knowledge of related Acts and Regulations and the planning process in British Columbia. You have demonstrated organizational, problem solving, research and writing.
